These short, single-day classes are perfect for children (ages 5–13) who have investigative minds! Groups study various topics with age-appropriate activities. Advanced registration required.

Fire Ecology

Is fire good for the environment? How do animals and plants survive a burn? Learn about how ecosystems benefit from fire and what types of fires are helpful vs. harmful.

Alternative Energy

What’s the difference between non-renewable and renewable resources? Investigate alternative energy sources: solar, wind, geo-thermal, etc. Create your own solar oven and more!

Invasive Species

What is an invasive species? How did they get to Idaho? What affects do they have on our ecosystems and how can we manager their impact? August will be an Animal Investigations Series where students will learn up close about specific Zoo Idaho residences. They will learn about each species, see training demos from our zookeepers, and investigate what makes them unique.
