Zoo Idaho, formerly the Pocatello Zoo, has been a haven and sanctuary for native North American species for over 80 years. The animals exhibited at the zoo were injured, orphaned, imprinted on humans or captive born. In any case, they would not survive in the wild. For these reasons they have become ambassadors for their kind, helping educate the public about wildlife conservation and habitat preservation.
The zoo provides a unique opportunity to learn about native wildlife through exhibits, classes, summer camps, and outreaches.
Throughout the year Zoo Idaho and Zoo Idaho Zoological Society present a variety of events to raise money to support zoo exhibit construction and maintenance and zoo programs. We are looking for sponsors to help us make each event a success! We are looking for both monetary sponsorships and volunteering sponsorships.
Events and Activities
The last Saturday in October Zoo Idaho celebrates Halloween with a trick-or-treat event around the zoo. Local community organizations and businesses provide candy and activities for the guests.
Wild Winter Weekends
The first two weekends in December Zoo Idaho is open so guest can enjoy lights around the zoo, snow science activities, hot chocolate, and cookies.
Endangered Species Day
The third Friday in May, Zoo Idaho highlights endangered species by providing conservation activities around the zoo for students.
Roar and Pour
Held in June, Roar and Pour is an adult only event of wine tasting around the zoo. Enjoy Zoo Idaho for an evening of food, wine, and live music. One of our biggest fundraisers.
Ice Cream Zoofari
Held on the third Saturday in August, guest can tour around the zoo while enjoying free unlimited ice cream. Family friendly activities are provided throughout the day.
Held in September, OktoBEARfest brings together traditional Oktoberfest activities and beer tasting around the zoo. This adult-only event is our second biggest fundraiser.
While we have provided levels of support and appropriate benefits, we understand the need for flexibility. If you don’t see your organization aligning with one of these levels, please contact us with your ideas.
